Week 3 5000 Days of the Internet Response

After watching "Kevin Kelly on the next 5,000 days of the web" I have a few things to say.
First of all, Kevin tells us earlier on in the video about how the internet is so amazing, but many of us do not realize just how amazing it really is.  I can sat that I am one of those people.  Though it has came to mind somethimes how convinient certain aspects of the interbet are.  This could incluse buying things with ease, ease of sending messages, video conferencing, etc.
Though as Kevin got into the core of the topic, it reminded me a lot of Terminator with Arnold Schwarzenegger.  One machine having all of the world's information and power and that it would be smarter than all humans on the earth.
Another thing that made me think was the picture of the man with the cell phone strapped to his head.  This made me think of a video game world where everyone had very small things to communicate with each other.  What I mean by this is either headsets. or even audio and video devices built into people.
I find it incredible, but also scary to think of everything that is yet to come.
Of course we will see when it comes.

  1. Hi Josh, I truly think it would be a scary day when computers can think for themselves almost as though they had a mind of their own. I find it funny you mentioned the terminator because, I totally was thinking Will Smith's I-robot, a machine with artificial intelligence really a pretty scary thing to think about.

  2. Wow that would be crazy to see audio and video devices built into actual live people, but I believe anything is possible. As far as the Terminator I also believe that there could be a bunch of robot people running around like cleaning peoples houses or doing other jobs.
